Designer and sculptor Ariane van Dievoet creates pieces from off-cuts of materials to highlight their texture and form.Specialising in the reuse of materials, she combines traditional and digital techniques to fashion objects from scraps of wood, bluestone, marble, mirror fragments and more.
A degree in interior design from the Chelsea College of Art (UK) and her master’s degree in Adaptive reuse in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design (USA) laid the foundations for Ariane’s research. She began her career in Brooklyn, where she worked for five years and founded her studio, AVANDI. She then returned to Brussels in 2018, focusing her work on materials reuse.
Ariane passes on her expertise to students at CAD, where she teaches courses in object design and sustainable design and technology. In 2023, she co-founded Augusta, a gallery specializing in sustainable design, based in Sablon.
